Privacy Policy — Stockpile
Last updated: June 2026
Overview
Stockpile is a simple, offline inventory app for your home or small office — scan, organize by category & location, track quantities, and never run out; no ads, no account, all data on your device. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the app handles, how it is used, and your rights.
Data We Collect
Data stored locally on your device
The app stores the following only on your device using local storage. This data never leaves your device and is never sent to our servers (we have none) or shared with any third party:
- Your inventory items (names, quantities, units, prices, notes, expiry dates, barcodes)
- Photos you take or attach to items
- Categories and locations you create
- Item quantity history (your add/remove changes)
- App settings (e.g. which fields are shown, theme, language)
Data we do NOT collect
- We do not collect your name, email address, or any personal information
- We do not create user accounts
- We do not track your location
- We do not use analytics or advertising SDKs
- We do not share any data with third parties
Third-Party Services
The app connects to one external service, and only when you choose to look up a scanned barcode. The request is fetch-only and includes no user data, device identifiers, or personal information:
- OpenFoodFacts — an open, community product database. When you scan a barcode and the app
looks it up, it sends only the scanned barcode number (a product identifier, not personal
data) to retrieve public product details (name, brand, image, ingredients) to help you fill
in the item. Nothing about you or your device is sent.
- Website: https://world.openfoodfacts.org
- Their privacy policy: https://world.openfoodfacts.org/privacy
- Data sent by Stockpile: only a content request (the barcode); no user data.
If you never use the barcode lookup, the app makes no network requests and works fully offline. Photos you add are stored only on your device and are never uploaded.
Permissions
- Camera — used to scan barcodes and to take photos of your items. Images stay on your device.
- Photos / media (optional) — only if you choose to attach a photo from your library.
- Internet — used only for the optional OpenFoodFacts barcode lookup described above.
Children’s Privacy
Stockpile does not knowingly collect any data from children under 13. The app contains no advertising, no in-app purchases, and no social features. All personal inventory data remains local to the device.
Data Deletion
Since all your data is stored locally on your device, you can delete it at any time from within the app (Settings → Reset all data) or by uninstalling the app. There is no account to delete and no data on our servers.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when new features are added. Changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
